Founded in 2023 by Kun Fang, a senior engineer with experience in one of the leading carbon bike component factories, NTP Composites is committed to delivering premium product quality across all orders, big or small. We continuously innovate in materials, layup techniques, and construction methods to produce lightweight, durable carbon rims and frames that provide reliable performance for our clients.

01 Paint-Free Finish

Thanks to advancements in tooling and layup techniques, our rims come out of the mold nearly flawless. This eliminates the need for additional coatings to mask cosmetic imperfections, reducing both weight and production costs.

02. Carbon Wrap Technology

We’ve perfected the calibration of the outer rim bed (tire side) and sidewalls (weather side) to create a continuous fiber flow that efficiently transmits impact forces. Our in-house impact tests show a 20% increase in impact resistance (from 100J to 120J) compared to traditional layup methods. This innovative wrapping technique is easy for our technicians to apply while minimizing layup redundancy.

03. Specified Hole Reinforcement

Rather than reinforcing the entire inner rim circumference, we use a more targeted approach, reinforcing only the critical areas around the spoke holes. This allows us to reduce weight redundancies without compromising structural integrity. Infrared marking instruments are used to ensure precise placement of the reinforcement.

04. Pre-Inflation Curing

During the hot-press curing process, we inflate the internal airbag to ensure the resin cures properly. Resin is sensitive to temperature and moisture, and premature curing can lead to voids and delamination. Our pre-inflation technique ensures that the airbag is fully inflated either simultaneously or slightly before curing is complete, preventing these issues and ensuring optimal rim strength.

05. Pulsed Hot Press

By carefully controlling air pressure, oil pressure, and temperature in a pulsed manner, we manage resin flow throughout the rim. This process expels excess resin and ensures the carbon layers are tightly compressed, resulting in a stronger, more consistent product.

06. Tubeless Tire Retention

All of our clincher rims—whether straight side or crotchet types—are designed with tubeless compatibility in mind. We ensure reliable tire retention through features like tiny bead locks or slightly sloped bead seats, guaranteeing a secure fit for tubeless setups.

07. Adaptive Hole Drilling

We customize our hole-drilling process to accommodate a variety of hubs, ensuring compatibility with different hole counts, hub flange designs, lacing patterns, spoke types (steel, carbon, or rope), and nipple types (external or internal). We also stagger the drilling on the rim bed to align with nipple hole angles, facilitating smoother and more efficient wheel building.

08. Comprehensive Weight Control

Our rigorous weight control process spans the entire production cycle—from raw materials to finished rims. Every step, including premold layups, raw rims, and drilled rims, is closely monitored. Any deviation outside of our strict tolerances is flagged immediately, ensuring the consistent weight and quality of our final products.
